"Oh it’s so cute."
The Basics
Full Name: Daisy Mae Woods
Nickname/Alias: Dee (by her brother only)
Species: White Tailed Deer
Gender: Female
Age: 26
Occupation: Ballet Dancer
District: City Central
Appearance
Fur/Tail: Daisy is a bit unusual to see on the street. This is because she is an albino. Her fur is completely white from the tip of her ears to her teardrop shaped tail to the very tips of her hooves. The joints on her feet are knobby and gnarled while the hooves themselves are short and cracked. She wears every callus with pride. Her eyes are large and a very pale blue, so pale in fact that they almost look transparent. Only the slightest bit of pigment keeps her from having the pink eyes that people expect her to have. However, because of the lack of pigment, she has terrible eyesight during the day and on stage. During the day, she can be seen wearing special polarized sunglasses and has special lights in her home. At night, she can forego the sunglasses so she tends to keep more nocturnal habits. During the summer, her favorite type of clothing to wear are sundresses. Oversized t shirts and shorts are also common. Sometimes she will borrow some of her brother’s shirts when she doesn’t feel like doing laundry. And wide brimmed hats are a constant. During the colder months, she likes to wear oversized sweaters and thick yarn scarves. Gloves and flower crowns are common accessories for her regardless of season. Daisy has an almost ethereal appeal because of her condition and her occupation as a professional dancer only adds to it. With her long limbs and undeniable grace, she almost seems to float through her surroundings at times. It’s rare to see her stumble or fall.
Personality
Personality Description: Daisy is an incredibly kind individual. Soft spoken and gentile, she’s good at comforting others and does it often in fact. It’s not uncommon for her friends to come to her seeking a shoulder to cry on or just someone to listen. Thanks to growing up with a rather passionate brother, she has an incredible calm about her. It’s hard to get her riled up about anything. When she does get worked up, it usually ends in tears. It isn’t necessarily that she’s sad, but rather that she can’t always put her frustration into words.
Daisy does well at making friends. It’s very easy to tell that she’s a nice person though she isn’t very loud, even when excited. She’s always one to welcome new dancers to the team. This doesn’t mean she’s kind to everyone though. It takes a while to get on her bad side but she does have a bit of a mean streak in her. While she might not sound outwardly rude, but she has mastered the art of polite insults.
Unfortunately, Daisy does not have the highest self esteem. In her mind, she is a beautiful, enchanting dancer. But that's all she is. She doesn't believe that she's smart or interesting or anything else. She is only beautiful and only a dancer. Nothing else because she couldn't possibly be anything else. She rarely ever voices these insecurities though, not even to her brother, and it takes a very careful ear to hear them when she does.
Strengths:
- Patience: Daisy has an incredible sense of patience that comes from dealing with her brother. Dealing with a person who has no chill for your entire life has taught her how to deal with the most stubborn of people.
- Perseverance: In addition to her sense of patience, Daisy has quite a sense of perseverance. In her line of work, nothing can be done in short amounts of time. It takes time and endless practice. She reaches her goals slowly and steadily until she gets to where she wants to be. It doesn’t matter what might get in the way, if she says it’s going to happen, it’s going to happen.
- Neat: Daisy enjoys cleanliness and it's rare to see her home with so much as a hair out of place. She keeps her clothes well ironed or steamed. And if someone dares to scuff up her coffee table with hoof marks, they get to sleep outside. Keeping her home nice and good looking is no laughing matter.
- Agility: As a deer, Daisy is already both fast and agile. She can easily hit 40 mph when at a full sprint and can quickly maneuver through tight spaces well. Thanks to her skills as a dancer, she's even more flexible that your average deer.
- Dedicated: Part of what has led Daisy to her career is her intense sense of dedication. She is willing to do whatever she has to to achieve perfection. As a result, she spends extra hours working and practicing dancing. She believes every little thing makes a difference. This applies to others as well. And there are few people she is more dedicated to than her brother.
Weaknesses
- Airheaded: Just because she keeps her apartment clean doesn't mean that she's organized. She can memorize dance moves, stage positions, and most of her coworkers names. But ask her where her apartment keys are and she may have a problem. She's not so airheaded that people wonder how she's made it this far, but she's airheaded enough to get herself into trouble from time to time. Taking the wrong turn, forgetting to lock her door, and forgetting important items at home are just some examples.
- Naive: Daisy can be very naive at times. She isn't stupid but she does tend to take things at face value. If enough people tell her that pretty mammals can't be smart or that some mammals can only do certain jobs, she tends to believe it. So if the news starts reporting that predators are going savage and to be wary around them, she'll believe that too.
- Finicky: Daisy can be incredibly finicky at times. Part of this is due to her eye problems. The rest of it is just a need for things to be a certain way. If there is something out of place in her apartment for example, she will know and someone will get chewed out. The same applies to her dressing room at the theatre but since that is just a mess in general with everything going on, she's a little more relaxed about that.
- Stubborn: Daisy is as stubborn as any bull or rhino out there. When she's decided she going to do something, it's darn near impossible to talk her out of it. Even her brother has a hard time. It'd be easier to move a wall than to stop her when she's on a mission.
- Perfectionist: This is a flaw that many people claim to have. But very few people have the sort of stress placed on them that Daisy does. In her line of work, every mistake, every line out of place, will be criticized. She is very much battling against an idea of perfection that everyone who sees her perform has in their mind. As a result, she is incredibly critical of herself. If someone doesn't criticize what she's done, she'll do it for them. She knows her flaws better than anyone else which leads her to some unhealthy practices now and then. She keeps herself on a very strict schedule and diet plan that revolves around keeping herself in the best physical shape possible for her job. If even the littlest detail falls out of place, she can easily fall into a full fledge tantrum.

History
History:
Growing up, Daisy was the golden child. Where ever she went, she always heard people talk about how pretty she was. How rare it was to see an albino, how her parents must have been so happy. She was exotic and something some people would never even see. Her parents bought her nice clothes and she could get away with just about anything if she wanted to. She never did anything too serious, but a few cookies went missing every so often and no one would say a thing.
When she showed interesting in dancing at age 4, her parents were ecstatic. Before she knew it, she was enrolled in a ballet class by herself and in a ballroom dancing class with her brother. By the time she entered elementary school, she was at the top of her class. Dance had become her world.
Of course, school can change things. She still got complements about how she looked but children can be mean. Some of the other students called her a freak, a ghost, unnatural, and more. It didn't take long for these insults to die though. Whenever she told her brother about what was going on during recess, the bullies left her alone shortly after. Her brother would make sure that whoever came after his sister regretted it. He made her feel safe and the two truly became inseparable.
As time went on, her classmates became less fascinated by her condition. She made friends and kept her grades in good standing. She entered competitions with her brother and her ballet skills only got better and better. Things were going well. It was during middle school that things became more complicated. That was when the whispers started. A pretty mammal like her wasn't really smart or talented. The teachers just gave her good grades because she was rare. Weren't deer pretty dumb after all?
It was slow at first, but her grades started dropping. She asked her brother what he thought of her and while he never said anything bad about her, she never seemed satisfied. When he asked if something was going on, she would just shrug and walk away. What could she tell him? He couldn't do anything to help. And besides, they were probably right.
When she got her first C, her parents began to panic. Her brother began tutoring her but her grades just fell and fell further, no matter how hard she worked. It was becoming more and more apparent to her that she wasn't smart. She just couldn't be. More and more of her time went towards dancing. To be a ballerina she just had to be pretty and graceful. She couldn't be smart, but she could be that.
Eventually, things reached a balance. She took more remedial classes which meant she didn't have to study as much and could dance more. When she graduated from high school, she attended the School of Zootopian Ballet in Zootopia rather than going to college. Since her family lived in one of the suburbs surrounding the modern city, she was able to live at home while attending. When she was 18, she already held an apprenticeship with the Zootopia Ballet Theatre. From there, she became a full time dancer. Daisy just became a soloist in the company, though it took her seven years to achieve her position. As far as she is concerned, she is incredibly lucky to have it after such a short time in the business.
