Welcome to the City of Zootopia! Before you can move in, there are a few items we need to cover first:
GENERAL RULES
ROLEPLAY RULES
CHARACTER RULES
GENERAL RULES
- No profanity or excessive swearing, please. Keep in mind the diversity of the movie's fanbase.
- No spam-posting in the boards or in the cbox, especially for the sake of increasing your post count. Doing so can, and will, result in either post deletion or further punishment.
- Be polite to each other; nobody likes a jerk.
- Do your best to remain active. If you're going to be gone for over a few days, please mention so in the absences board. At the very least, try to post no less than once a week.
- Please don't use signatures or post templates that stretch the site format; aside from taking a long time to load, they ruin the look of the site.
- If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to talk to the site staff! We are friendly, open, attractive people, and we want to help.
ROLEPLAY RULES
- City of Zootopia is an intermediate roleplay. This means your posts MUST be written in proper, third-person, past-tense English. pSots liek thiss arenot ackseptable. We understand that writing is harder for some than for others, but at the least, have proper grammar and spelling.
- You may not post in roleplay threads or in the IC-Cbox with characters you have not been approved for.
- One-liners are not allowed. Even in the grips of writer's block, you should be able to knock out at least a 150-word post. Anything substantially below this, and you will be asked to revise the post.
- No power-playing or god-moding. This means you cannot take control of another person's characters, nor can you make yours act invincible. Get consent before you do something like, say, knocking down somebody's character--but don't take this as an excuse to never give that consent yourself, or a thread is likely to devolve into an endless stream of one-ups.
- In-character posts should only be done in specific roleplay areas. Out-of-character boards and the standard Cbox are for out-of-character interaction; nobody here is actually a talking animal.
- In the same vein as the above, if your character is having an issue with someone else's character, this does not and should not mean that you have to have an issue with the other writer.
- As in the general site rules, no profanity and no excessive swearing. These things don't appear in the film, and as such have no place here, either. Nor should there be excessive violence or gore.
CHARACTER RULES
- At present, members are allowed a maximum of 3 canon characters.
- You can take up to eight characters total, but only if you can sustain that many.
- If you're going to apply for a canon character, make sure you're able to keep posting regularly--if you don't post with one for two weeks (without having an announced absence beforehand), they will be available for applications once again. NOTE: this doesn't mean you've lost them and have to reapply, it simply means others can apply for them. If you post before that happens, the character will once again be solely yours.
- Each character you play should be on a separate account. It is not necessary to have a 'main' OOC account, but you may make one if you prefer to.
- Further rules/comments on character applications can be found in that section of the site.
