OFFICER IVAN ALTAIKO TIGOROV
"A character quote of your choice."
The Basics"A character quote of your choice."
Full Name: Ivan Altaiko Tigorov
Nickname/Alias: Officer Tigorov, Officer Tiger, Iva, and "Commander Pawtson" by one little wolf pup.
Species: Siberian Tiger/Amur Tiger
Gender: Male
Age: Thirty Five
Occupation: Police Officer
District: Rainforest District
Appearance
Fur/Tail: Ivan has a base color of orange on his fur, with a creamy white underside and muzzle, the inside of his ears and around his eyes are also white, along with a round spot on the back of his otherwise black ears. Dark brown stripes surround his face and cover most of his body. His tail is fairly long and thin, but a small section of the end is bent crooked permanently. The tail is lined with dark stripes, and a white colored tip. The top of his nose is a darker color than most of his body, and the nose itself is pink.
Clothing: At work Ivan is a standard officer with a blue ZPD uniform, a button up shirt with a golden badge and name tag, darker blue tie, police equipment belt, and ZPD arm patches. He keeps his shirt buttoned proper, and a very neat and clean look no matter what he's wearing. Even on off days, his clothes are always clean and show care. At least without too much in the way of wrinkles. He does have a tendency toward buttoned shirts even off days, but wears more comfortable jeans.
Overview: Ivan is a fairly large tiger, tall and able to look nearly eye to eye with the massive buffalo that is chief Bogo. He's fairly well built, but not excessively so. He is not all that focused on his build and appearance in that way, so while he is in shape he is not an athletic body builder type. He has a natural mass from his species anyways. He stands fairly tall and confident for the most part, but not so much that he isn't willing to relax. His eyes are an emerald green, and his nose a deep pink sort of color. He does have sharp, curved claws that retract to being hardly visible, and sharp teeth, as well as typical feline whiskers. He has a very expressive face and features, his tail and ears major tells of his mood and he is hardly actually sitting still unless he is really sleepy.
Personality
Personality Description:
Ivan is a large and tough tiger with a strong confidence in himself and devotion to his job. He is the kind who applies himself fully to any goal he sets or assignment he is given. Generally he does so with a good mood, a positive outlook, and quite often a genuine eagerness. He is a gentle soul and a kind heart, meaning a claim of brutality done by this tiger would make even Chief Bogo laugh. Ivan still gives far longer of chances than most officers before resorting to use of force or much of anything physical in general. He's a smart individual though and seems to very well learn from his mistakes.
The tiger has a solid sense of humor that he has developed over the years. Although Bogo's humor still sometimes goes over his head. Normal humor and fun and games are things that Ivan understands and gets very well. He tries to make friends with most of his fellow officers and finds comfort in the teamwork a sense of friendship the job has provided him. He cares for the other officers and in fact would likely do anything to defend and protect them maybe even more than a normal citizen. Children though he would in fact do anything for. He will play a game in the weirdest of places, forget his own embarrassment. He has sworn to protect the innocents and that is in fact what he will do. He is loyal. He likes to do things right.
Ivan has a tendency to be given some of the more emotional victims and citizens to speak to, and often ends up comforting people, which he is okay with. He almost always takes on the responsibility of calming children down in situations. Ivan badly wants children in his future and tends to enjoy spending time with them a game here or there. He isn't afraid to play imagination, or even answering a million questions either. Honestly if a kid wanted to play dress up or makeup he probably would. He has a hard time saying no after all.
He believes in hard work and justice. Also in having a whole lot of patience. He rarely gets angry and only with a significant reason to be. Emotionally he is generally controlled although tends to be a little delayed when it comes from switching between having fun and being serious at times. He also takes things far too serious and is well aware of how other mammals look at him. He acts and looks confident around superiors like the chief, but generally is smiling and at least acts a good mood. He is good at his job and he knows it and he knows where he is going with it. Even will admit his downfalls, though takes it hard when told by someone else. He's honestly hard on himself. He also fears the assumptions and way people will think of him due to his species. He doesn't want to scare anyone, he wants to help them.
The tiger is not overly social though. He is definitely quiet on his own and only loud when engaged with friends or it is necessary to be commanding for work. He does not immediately engage in conversation or seek it out from strangers on his own. He is perfectly willing to speak to officers and subjects involved in work, and he will talk when spoken to. He is quite inviting expression wise once one gets past his predator look. But he is also good at sitting back and listening, taking things in. At times he can get shy and awkward. Particularly when caught off guard or approaching someone above him with a question or request. He is generally afraid of being wrong and of having to be disciplined so he is very cautious. Ivan is also very careful to treat all species with respect, and still treat everyone with some form of kindness. Even after having to subdue a suspect. Sometimes he gets carried away in where he is headed or what he is doing that he can forget his size and the the smaller mammals around him. Though he is not noticeably clumsy.
Ivan shows up on time for his engagements, generally with a coffee and very quiet for the beginning of the morning. He is not a morning person one bit. He's approachable and friendly though, once he's awake anyways.

History
History:
Ivan was born the middle child of the Tigorov family. His father was a police officer, as was his mother. His older brother was quite a few years older, and then Ivan was the older of twins. His brother, Hugo, was a bit smaller and always a bit more trouble. As cubs Ivan was the strong one of the two, protecting his brother fiercely and defending him at every turn. Every look, every accusation, Ivan was there to speak up. He was the tough one where even their older brother refused to comment. Of course the smaller twin used his brother's willingness to help him get what he wanted too, but Ivan was always very rule oriented. He wanted from an early age to be like his father and prove himself. Make his father proud.
His childhood was fairly typical for a tiger. He was smart, strong, and dedicated and he kept going on his track toward becoming an officer. He wasn't deterred by others either, as he was a species built well for such a job. Of course he was still a predator, and often his kindness was used by certain prey students to get at him. Or try and get him in trouble. He so desperately wanted to fit in that he would follow and fall right into their pranks, or find himself entirely knocked down verbally. He was the bullied, outnumbered and far too kind to realize until it was too late to escape. He found himself in school only fitting with the larger mammals. Not tough enough to fit with many of the predators who had developed thick skinned, but outnumbered and pushed around by the prey as the soft predator who actually took it. Ivan had a hard time at a young age with others, but was convinced that anyone could change. He never really grew out of it either.
The tiger remained a good student, and as he got bigger he didn't break down as easily as his younger self. Still no matter how much anyone would put him down, he offered them help when they needed it. With school work or anything else, and was kind. He'd been taught by his older family to remain caring no matter what and he stuck to it entirely through his life. Even eventually making friends with the large rhino who had been his bully for many years. He took everything said to him seriously, the small hints of prejudice settled on him quite harshly but he wasn't going to become cruel himself. He stood up for those going through the same as he was, but he never engaged in physical confrontation in school.
As he promised, he went into the academy as soon as he could. Ivan was physically skilled in the academy, successful at most every exercise that he faced. The tiger was strong, agile, quick, and adaptable. Most of all, he had a goal and determination to him. He was good for helping people, but an empowered police personality was harder for him to grasp in that early point. He was a tiger, but he struggled to lay a paw on another mammal even in training exercises. It took many times of himself getting beaten down in fighting practice to figure it out. The tiger was not the recruit that anyone expected to be on the ground so often as he was. Eventually the instructor, a good friend of his father's, pulled him aside and all but beat into him that being an officer didn't mean being nice. He didn't have to be soft and kind to everyone to be a good influence. Sometimes you had to defend yourself, had to take someone down, and had to use force. Strength and confidence were important too, and for the rest of his time in the academy he worked hard to find the balance for him. Eventually Ivan was taking others down, and a little of that fierce feline made an appearance.
He graduated mid level of his class, but as a well rounded officer as far as his instructor was concerned. His father was proud, even his big brother attended graduation and congratulate him. The tiger had the job he wanted, and the family was so proud of him he felt like everything was going great. Within a year of his acceptance to the ZPD, Ivan's father was injured severely enough in an accident that he was forced to retire early. Ivan was devastated, as was his father who had just made it to a high level promotion himself. Ivan swore to his parents that he would continue still though. He would even surpass where his father had gotten, and the older tiger encouraged him on.
After now thirteen years on the force he has found himself an okay balance between kindness and trusting, and skepticism. He learned some the hard way, after injuries which have left a couple of scars luckily covered by his uniform. But his ambition for the job has never faltered and he believes himself to be a good officer. He has worked and succeeded on some large cases and earned the respect of most coworkers. He sees less of the prejudice and comments now that he is older and holds a police title, but since the night howler incident has seen some still a bit wary around such a large feline. He currently holds a clean disciplinary record and a solid arrest count.

Ivan shows up on time for his engagements, generally with a coffee and very quiet for the beginning of the morning. He is not a morning person one bit. He's approachable and friendly though, once he's awake anyways.
Strengths:
- Caring and kind, he loves most anyone and is generally a good listener and a gentle individual. Helpful, he will do his best to help everyone he comes across that might need him. He's good at teamwork.
- For the most part he is humble. Not too worried about taking credit for everything or correcting things unless it is important. He's not so ambitious to make enemies correcting people.
- Obedient in his job, Ivan follows orders well and does what he can to remain a "model officer".
- Determined and goal oriented. The tiger does not give up easily, unless of course being faced down by a superior. He gives up pretty easily for them.
- Physically strong and a good size, he's difficult to take down.
- Playful with a good sense of humor. He takes his job serious enough, but not so much that he doesn't have fun either. He takes jokes well, except being quite a bit confused by Bogo's more dry sense of humor.
- Socially aware and careful. Ivan takes care to not fall into traps of prejudice or quick judgments. He's dealt with enough of it himself over his life.
- He's brave and willing to run into danger to accomplish an assignment. Quite confident to go with it.
- Organized and detail oriented.
Weaknesses
- Ivan is a bit too trusting at times. He is getting better at being skeptical in his job, but off shift not so much.
- He cares what others think of him a bit much. He wants to impress his superiors, and he wants his family to be proud of him too. He also cares about the way others view him as an officer and as a predator, causing him nerves and to be far too concerned with impressions and his image. He often apologizes even when he shouldn't.
- He might wait a little too long before using physical force against anyone. He tries to talk everyone out of things and sometimes it just can't work.
- Sometimes has a short attention span. Like missing morning roll call to play cops and robbers with children in the station, or getting wrapped up in trying to take care of a victim that he misses the rest of his job. Also very distractable when asked to do paperwork.
- Some say his family could be a bit of a weakness. Particularly his small time criminal brother who he keeps bailing out of jail and giving shelter to. Basically he cares a little too much for helping people, even those who don't want it.
- He focuses so much on protecting others that sometimes he forgets to pay attention to his own safety.
Likes:
- Rain and cooler temperatures. Water is actually a good thing for Ivan, he loves to swim.
- Collecting, he's got quite the collection of little trinkets in his house. Including some personal art from his love spread throughout.
- Loves coffee and sugar, although not to the extent of a certain cheetah, he has a sweet tooth and can't start his morning without some sort of caffeine.
- Art, mostly for the sake of his wife. He's not that great himself.
Dislikes/Fears:
- Being alone or rejected, particularly by his family. Also losing his family.
- Does not like storms. He is okay with rain and wind for the most part, but any sort of thunder and lightning puts him on edge.
- He hates to be looked at as just a big predator, or scary, as he is not at all a violent individual. He hates when things are assumed and hates the prejudice he sees. He will stand up and say something about it.

Important Relations:
- Wife - Zira Tigorov, is attempting to make a name as an artist. He was shopping somewhere and ran into her... literally bumped into her and had to catch her from falling over. They talked for a bit, she tried to give him art lessons, and eventually they just got together after some awkward months of neither being willing to ask the other out. They've been actually married for a year now and hope the happiness continues.
- Twin Brother - Hugo Tigorov, involved in minor non-violent crimes
. He will often try to stay nights at Ivan's place and still manages to convince him to bail him out. Ivan still refuses to actually cover for him or compromise procedure to do it though. - Brother - Andrei, works as a mechanic
a bit separated from the family. He and the father don't get along so well. - Parents - Retired Police Officers. Father retired due to an injury, and his mother retired soon after to take care of her husband.
- Chief Bogo, Somebody he severely respects, as his boss and superior as well as just an officer in general. He doesn't necessarily fear him anymore now that he's not a rookie, but he gives him a respectful distance and follows orders from him exactly as they are given. He still can't seem to get him to smile, but Ivan feels like he at least satisfies expectations. He hasn't been fired yet after all.
